On the outskirts of the historic city of Lancaster is the very special village of Hornby. This is where, in 2010, Jayne & Chris Ledsham found the Castle Inn, having been neglected for years, was in a rather sad and sorry state. Having fallen in love with the building and having a revelation about its potential, they began renovations. Now it is a shining example of Georgian architecture, a delightful and warm place to be, and nestled on the cusps of the Yorkshire Dales, the Forest of Bowland, and the Lake District, it is simply the perfect area to visit.
You might tell that Jayne was an antique dealer before taking on the Castle Inn as throughout the building there are superb examples of English and foreign furniture as well as exquisite paintings and portraits. Whether you’re on a honeymoon, staying for business, or just wandering the amazing Lune Valley you’ll find a space in which you can relax, work and enjoy. A place where every armchair and bedspread has been carefully chosen and lovingly arranged.
In the upstairs of our handsome Georgian Coaching Inn each of the six rooms have been designed with luxury & your comfort in mind. At night super king beds dressed with silk bedspreads & Egyptian cotton linen make for dreamy sleeps. In the morning monsoon showers & The White Company Toiletries will awaken the senses. Breakfasts are imaginative and satisfying - celebrating locally sourced produce & home baked treats.
This year has been rather fruitful for tourism awards, we have been involved in these prestigious schemes;
